{sneak-peek} Rachel & Jared

Ahhh!!

Rachel - Unbelieveable!!! You are GOOD!!

{love} Tracy & Jonathan

Yesterday, Tracy & Jonathan met up with me to shoot their engagement session at Honeymoon Island. I’m always excited to head down that way, because I always find something new to incorporate into the images. There were some glitches. I went to a part of the beach I had shot before, but not in a while. Well, there were some changes-the dock I was planning on taking some images on was missing. Gone. So, no worries. I walked along the beach before Tracy and Jonathan got there and scoped out prime locations for shots. While walking, I guess I dislodged the lens hood from my lens. Oops. So,I have a confession, I am always losing something when I shoot, and it’s usually a lens cap.I get so excited about a shot, that I think I put it in my pocket or my shootsac, but I probably just placed it on the ground-a spot you’ll usually find me in when I’m shooting. How do I not notice a huge black lens hood fall off? While walking back to the parking lot, I’m thinking up excuses to tell Jimmy why I don’t have my lens hood : a) lens hoods are overrated. Who needs them? b) A pelican just shot out of the air and gobbled it up. I swear. c) the just deny everything. What lens hood? I never had one! (he’s not the type to get mad, it’s my stuff, but how many times will this poor man have to hear about me losing something?? At some point his poor brain will explode.)

I eventually found the hood. Tracy and Jonathan probably thought I was pretty nuts when I got all excited and exclaimed “Oh, there’s my lens hood!” like I just leave lying around like that, you know, in case I need it at some point.

I had so much fun at this session. There were so many little things that happened and I wish I had video. A lady walking through our shot thinking I’m some perv taking photos of Tracy and Jonathan. Acting like a “limp noodle.” I’m still trying to figure that one out. Possibly stealing another photographer’s lighting equipment and making a run for it (all Jonathan’s idea-that’s my story!) Me being the Mr.Magoo of the photography world.

Here are some images I shot yesterday. Look out for a cameo from the pervy lady.
I could not stop cracking up. I try not laugh at people, unless we’re all just cracking up together. But, the combination of me standing in the cold water-on rocks, no less- and Tracy and Jonathan still keeping their composure in this picture, I couldn’t stop the laughter. I was cold, and almost fell in the water numerous times, so that’s my story. I can’t be faulted in those conditions!Geez, Tracy! learn to tone it down a few notches! So gorgeous!

Jonathan Popple - Tina- Thank You so much for a fun experience. The photos look great. You were right the first time Tracy does have amazing eyes!!!!!

marissa moss - way to make a beach session look like SO much more! my eyes sometimes glaze over when i see another session on the beach but these are amazing!!

{weddings} Laurie & Ethan

Remember my couple from Boston? They got married on saturday! I love, love, loved this wedding! The details were amazing and Laurie & Ethan are the sweetest and nicest couple. This wedding was so relaxed, fun, and had so many personal touches. I loved Ethan’s brother’s speech set to the opening of Star Trek (if you follow my blog, you’ll know my intense love for the series!)

Thank you Laurie & Ethan for flying me up to Boston and shooting your engagement session there. Thank you for trusting me in taking these images for you. And most importantly, thank you for just being the most rad couple and starting this year on such a high!

Here are some images-I’ll be posting some photo booth images soon!

Here’s a sneak-peek from Laurie and Ethan’s wedding last night! The blog post will be following shortly, but not as quick as usual since we are headed out of town for two days. Enjoy!

Odalys - the bride is beautiful. and that second shot is pure magic!

} Strike a pose! {

Guess what’s awesome?? Having a photo booth is pretty awesome. Who can do that? I can! Err, more like my hubby can! We are offering a brand new option to all my clients (and wannabe clients) a chance to add photo booth to their packages. What’s photo booth, you ask? This is it:

So.much.fun! This is just us goofing off with the equipment while in our pj’s. Our first official booth is this saturday  and I am so excited! Jimmy’s manning the booth (I’m so glad he didn’t have a heart attack when not only did he have to learn lighting but also know how to shoot manual!) and people just get to goof off and have fun. Oh, and my bride and groom made an awesome backdrop and have a pretty exciting props to use!

Be warned-the booth is addictive!! I could pose all day long being the biggest dorkus on the block.

Odalys - i am sooooo excited!

Stephanie T - Odi would love this, but it honestly sounds awesome!

{love} Sara & Daniel

Sara and Daniel were my first session of the new year yesterday. I love this couple (is this a running theme with ALL of my clients??!) Sara and Daniel are laid back and fun to be around. We trekked down to Honeymoon Island in the windy, cold weather , but i think we got some really great shots. It’s so weird seeing our usually sunny Florida beach in cool grey tones.

I am super excited about this wedding, because they are getting married at the same location the hubby and I got married 2 years ago.  I can’t wait to see what everything looks like plus I get to spend the day taking photos of this awesomely chill couple.

In the mean time, here’s some shots from yesterday. I still haven’t learned how to just put a few photos in my posts, but is this a real problem? I sure hope not!

}It’s New Year’s Eve!!{

Okay, wow, I can’t believe today is the last day of 2009! This year is so very different for me than last year, it is too insane. Last year I was hoping and dreaming that my business will get to where I want it to get. With only one wedding under my belt (Yeah! ONE!)  from 2008 and a few shoots here and there, I fully embarked in this crazy business of photographing people in love. My first year of business has been crazy and I sit here completely stressed out (why must the dog throw up on my awesome rug and why can’t I find my phone charger??) and high on emotions, I could never be happier. I think sometimes people focus on divine powers and prayer as the reason for their success (and believe me, I prayed and hoped with the best of them), but I’m gonna say I worked REALLY hard for any success I may have! Ha. I mean, harder than I’ve ever worked, including college! I knew what I wanted to be. I was, and still am, my worst critic. I had a wonderful husband who remained my optimistic guide when I felt like my world was crumbling. I spent hours researching, practicing, and focusing on making each session better than the last. I stopped critiquing my work with other photographers and I pitted myself against myself. I made some stupid moves. I’m making new moves. I’m trying to keep it real.

I have had amazing clients this last year (thank you, you amazing people!) Some of my clients this year will wed next year and I will be there to photograph the beginning of the new chapter in their lives. Some clients, I hope to see you when you have wee little ones!

2010 is a new chapter in my business, my life, and some new and exciting news (at least for me!) Now, I won’t be hoping, working, and dreaming that I have a business, I’ll be focusing on making my business more kick-ass than before. But, before we end 2009, I want to post some of my favorite pictures from this year!

I hope everyone has an amazing new year’s eve, new year’s day, and be safe!! firstsecondthirdfourthfifthsixth copyseventh

Aura - These are beautiful. Your work has grown so much, and I love your style. Good luck with your business in the new year!

Tina - Aw, Thank You so much for such sweet comments! Good luck with your business as well! I remember reading on your blog that your starting something new!

Victoria - Tina, I love this post...everything about it! Including the year in memories through pictures but most especially, I loved all that you wrote. Everything you said about dreaming and working hard for what you believe in - which, I must say, the fruits of your dedication and passion is so incredibly beautiful and obvious. Congrats on a successful and amazing 2009...bring on the excitement of 2010...Yay! :)

Stephanie Tamargo - Tina, I honestly CANNOT wait to meet you at Victoria and Odi's wedding! This post is so beautifully written and so well done. I got chills, not only from reading what you wrote, but from taking a look at your pictures from 2009. There is no doubt that you have talent and passion for your work, and I commend you on a job well done! You are wonderful. XOXO, Stephanie (Victoria's MOH & Odi's bridesmaid)<3

Tina - Aw, omigosh, thank you so much for your kind words Stephanie! You are always so sweet and kind and I ,too, cannot wait to meet you :) Is there anyway I can have you follow me around at shoots and keep telling me I'm rad? No? Worth a shot! haha.

Tina - Thank you so much Victoria! You were a part of my amazing 2009 and now you will be an even bigger part of my more amazing 2010! You are so sweet and I am so glad I am your photographer!

Stephanie Tamargo - Honestly Tina, if I could make a living from following you around at shoots, I would definitely do so. I wouldn't mind learning from you and picking up a few pointers, being that I really do want to start photography as a full-time hobby. And boy, to be able to do what you do myself, I would be very very happy. Time will tell if it'll even be possible. :) So maybe I can't go with you to every shoot, but thanks to this blog, we can certainly pretend and make do with what we have!? Deal? haha

{children & family} Reed Family
