{married!} Odalys & Matthew

The yellow umbrella of friendship. Odalys coined that term as the definition of how we met and grew as more than just a photographer and a set of clients. When I first got my first epic e-mail from Odalys, I was going through a bit of a personal family tragedy. While taking little moments for myself, I read and responded to Odalys’ story of her and Matthew. I never really though too much about it-I was just replying and loved this person who was yet to become a client of mine. Who knew it would grow into this year long obsession with e-mails that take hours to write and talking about things that have nothing to do with weddings. We found many things in common (hello, fabulous music obsession!!) and even offered words of wisdom to each other. I really don’t know what to write or how to even write anything, because how can you sum up a friendship? I was honored to be invited to her Bridal shower as a guest and I met her wonderful sisters, mother, and friends. You and Matthew are so blessed to have such wonderful families! Her relationship with her mother reminds me of my own with my mom and I only wish I had amazing sisters just like her (only child here.) Also, Natalie, you did give me the best greeting ever!

So, this wedding went above and beyond what Odalys described to me. The details are gorgeous, the couple is absolutely beautiful, and there was so much love in the air. Guerdy was the coordinator for the wedding and was just amazing. Like, I want to redo my whole wedding again and have her work her magic-she is absolutely incredible!

I hope you to two have a wonderful honeymoon in St.Barts! I hope the e-mails always keep coming and you two will always and forever have a special place in my heart.

{married!} Leidy & Hernan

Grey. Cloudy. Me praying in the car that it will not rain. Actually, I was just willing it not to rain, acting like it wasn’t even in my radar . Is that a cloud? Nope? Is it kind of dark? Eh, I’ve seen worse. Well, it worked. I think it rained, maybe, but I couldn’t be sure because the wedding ended up being too awesome and Leidy and Hernan were too amazing looking for any grey clouds or rain to ruin their day. It always feels so surreal meeting a couple for their engagement and hanging out months before the wedding, thinking we have so many months and so much time until the big day and *BAM* I’m waking up one morning preparing for the day. I always have this vision in my head of us screaming when we see each other and going “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! The day is heeeeerrrrreeee!!”  I am apparently pretty obnoxious in my head, but I will admit it is all very subtle and I’m very professional, but inside I am jumping like a little girl, because marriage is awesome and such a big deal and I am truly happy for all my clients who are taking the big plunge, especially Leidy and Hernan.

Gorgeous, gorgeous couple. I had such a great time at the wedding and everyone was just happy and laughing. I have to say, I saw some of the best dancing at this reception. I was waiting for some awesome coordinated dance number to break out and I would not have been phased. It would of been a normal moment for a reception that had the best dancers. You guys have such a wonderful family and I hope to see you two on the other end of my camera again. I know Hernan will be practicing!

Michelle Guzman - Beautiful!!!! Love all your wedding photos! I always get excited when I see that there is something new!!!

seth - I love those black and white getting ready shots. These are wonderful images!

Darko - Gorgeous shots. Looks like it was a great day for everyone.

Sarah Rominger - I LOVE how much of a detail oriented photographer you are! This bride will never have trouble remembering her wedding day, thanks to you :)

Lyn Ismael-Bennett - Love that shot of the bride getting out of the car. Classic!

Paul Rowland - I really enjoyed this set of images. The lens flare shot especially was a cool one. This couple will love these.

Leidy B. Dreispiel - Tina! I’m on the honeymoon in Santorini and I was dying to see the pictures! LOL. When we got here and I saw they had free wifi, I was really happy! I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics. You are so amazing. I don’t know how you do it!

Dave Chuidian - Great work. The sequence of the bride’s father walking in and then smiling is fantastic.

Tina - Haha, Leidy! You are so funny, but I am so glad you saw the post! I hope your honeymoon is going great!!

Jakob - Beautiful, you captured the details of the day in a great way.

Shella - Cracking ring shot!

Leo Druker - Love the feel of this wedding – gorgeous bride – gorgeous location – lots of beautiful moments captured. You knocked this out of the park – awesome work!

Thomas Lester - Love this. Love the light airy feel to everything. Very romantic.

Heather - Wonderful range of angles and focal lengths. Well done!

{married} Becky & Jason

Becky! Jason! You two are just the most wonderful people who really make me appreciate what I do. This is love-pure and simple. I asked Jason when I saw him at the church if he was excited and the smile that graced his face just made me melt-he was absolutely ready to make Becky his wife. During the ceremony, Everyone bowed their heads for a prayer and as Becky held onto her father’s arm I saw her take a little peek at Jason and she just radiated love and contentment. How can I not love my job? I have to say something about Becky-I LOVE her e-mails. Her joy is so infectious when she writes and I always look forward to popping open her e-mails. Also, you two have such sweet families! I felt like I was a little part of them for the day. From hugs, to jokes, to rambunctious dad dances-I was there for it all.

I know you two will have a wonderful marriage and hope to see you again when your love grows from just the two of you to something much more.

Bridgett Parrish - OMG Tina you are amazing!!!!! I love all of these!

Stephanie T - wow. these are wonderful! And what a happy couple! Yay for marriage!

Martha & Edward Howell - Dear Tina…THANKS, THANKS, THANKS…and did we say THANKS!!!…for being part of and capturing our “fairy tale” wedding for our only son and new daughter (the one we never had). The photos are fabulous…absolutely LOVE them…you are worth every penny you earn! Thanks again!

Tina Hill - Becky,
Your pictures are beautiful…you are a gorgeous bride. Congratulations.

Tina

Christine - GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS! I think this is your best work yet!

Odalys - Girrlllllll! Outta the park! Also, I am absolutely wild about the colors!

Rhodena Moses - BEAUTIFUL,wish i could have been there. All my love aunt Dena :)

Mike Phelps - Becky, you make a lovely bride. Congrats to the both of you!
And I gotta say the quality of the pictures really is a notch above the average wedding album. I think you guys selected the right person for the job. It offers hope to those of us who are (ahem) less photogenic than the two of you!
Best wishes!

{in love} Threasa & Justin

Yesterday, I headed down to Ybor (again!) to shoot Threasa & Justin’s engagement session. To me, it’s crazy that I am a photographer based in Tampa, but I rarely ever shoot sessions in this area. I shot in Downtown once and Ybor only twice. I love how you can get so many different looks in this little city of ours. So, this session was a bit different than what I have ever done. Threasa and Justin were brave souls and used the pouring rain as an unexpected “prop” in the session. I have never  shot in the rain, but I’m not complaining! It was a bit tricky holding the umbrella with my shoulder and neck and using a camera, but SO worth it!

I hope you two were okay driving back in wet clothes! I can’t wait to see you again at your wedding!

Christine - Wow, Tina, these are awesome. I’m totally in love with the first two images with the umbrella. I love the soft effect the rain has on them. Great job!

matthew wengerd - Tina, these are absolutely spectacular! We were just there this weekend and it was raining – I was thinking how beautiful it would be to do a session then.

Jennifer Martin - TOLD YA! lol. I knew they would be awesome, and the wedding post after this?! I love them, you are amazing, Tina. I’m so glad we are friends. :)

Threasa Bramble - Tina, these are awesome!!! We love them! You have such a gift. Who knew our engagement photos would get rained on and it would be a good thing :D

Stephanie - SOOO much fun! Way to embrace the elements :)

{in love} Kristy & Fredrik

This session was a first for me. Kristy, Fredrik, and I met in Ybor city for their engagement session at 7 am. Yeah-In the morning! I was surprised to find that I actually really enjoyed the early session, since it’s not as hot outside (it did get hot near the end, though) and the light is just so beautiful. It’s all golden and delicious at a certain point and it makes me want to do every session so early in the morning! I met these two quite a while ago and one of the things Kristy told me about their  wedding is that all they want to do is have fun. Yes! Sometimes, weddings get so caught up in details or stress, that we really just need to hang back, relax, and enjoy everything. But, I do have a sneaking suspicion that Kristy and Fredrik will turn it up for there formals during the wedding. Kristy was a total natural and I really didn’t have to do much. Also, Fredrik was spotting locations out, so maybe I will have to pay them to come out with me for all of my other sessions!  Here are some of my little favorites from the day.

Michelle Guzman - Wow. Beautiful. It’s so early though. Haha!
