{love} Tracy & Jonathan

Yesterday, Tracy & Jonathan met up with me to shoot their engagement session at Honeymoon Island. I’m always excited to head down that way, because I always find something new to incorporate into the images. There were some glitches. I went to a part of the beach I had shot before, but not in a while. Well, there were some changes-the dock I was planning on taking some images on was missing. Gone. So, no worries. I walked along the beach before Tracy and Jonathan got there and scoped out prime locations for shots. While walking, I guess I dislodged the lens hood from my lens. Oops. So,I have a confession, I am always losing something when I shoot, and it’s usually a lens cap.I get so excited about a shot, that I think I put it in my pocket or my shootsac, but I probably just placed it on the ground-a spot you’ll usually find me in when I’m shooting. How do I not notice a huge black lens hood fall off? While walking back to the parking lot, I’m thinking up excuses to tell Jimmy why I don’t have my lens hood : a) lens hoods are overrated. Who needs them? b) A pelican just shot out of the air and gobbled it up. I swear. c) the just deny everything. What lens hood? I never had one! (he’s not the type to get mad, it’s my stuff, but how many times will this poor man have to hear about me losing something?? At some point his poor brain will explode.)

I eventually found the hood. Tracy and Jonathan probably thought I was pretty nuts when I got all excited and exclaimed “Oh, there’s my lens hood!” like I just leave lying around like that, you know, in case I need it at some point.

I had so much fun at this session. There were so many little things that happened and I wish I had video. A lady walking through our shot thinking I’m some perv taking photos of Tracy and Jonathan. Acting like a “limp noodle.” I’m still trying to figure that one out. Possibly stealing another photographer’s lighting equipment and making a run for it (all Jonathan’s idea-that’s my story!) Me being the Mr.Magoo of the photography world.

Here are some images I shot yesterday. Look out for a cameo from the pervy lady.

I could not stop cracking up. I try not laugh at people, unless we’re all just cracking up together. But, the combination of me standing in the cold water-on rocks, no less- and Tracy and Jonathan still keeping their composure in this picture, I couldn’t stop the laughter. I was cold, and almost fell in the water numerous times, so that’s my story. I can’t be faulted in those conditions!
Geez, Tracy! learn to tone it down a few notches! So gorgeous!
